100 Lagoon Pond: The Floating Gallery

Located on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, 100 Lagoon Pond: The Floating Gallery is a unique, living sculpture and cultural platform that brings attention to the impact of climate change on the island's eroding coastline and warming waters.

Founded, repurposed and curated by Marion Wilson, who is known for upcycling mobile structures, The Floating Gallery is the nation’s first and only of its kind, offering a unique platform for artists and visitors to experience culture while being directly on the water.

The Floating Gallery is pleased to announce Available Works now on our website including highlights from the curated shows this past summer.

As a cultural space directly on the water, the Floating Gallery is both a platform and a lens to the environment. The narrow region where land and ocean meet is among the most dynamic and complex collections of physical and biological systems on Earth.

The Story

“100 Lagoon Pond: Floating Gallery”, is the nation’s first (and only) art gallery on the water and is owned and directed by Marion Wilson – an artist who is known for upcycling mobile structures and collaborative art experiences. Wilson purchased the houseboat in 2021 from a retired Vineyard master boat builder, and she has repurposed the all-wooden studio space into the Vineyards newest cultural space.
